Pathomorphological conclusion
Diagnosis	Gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the stomach (ICD-O code 8936/3).

Macroscopic description
Amount of blocks	1
A. Columns of gray-brown tissue up to 0.5 cm long and blood clots. There are no remains. A1 – trephine biopsy.

Microscopic description

Tumor complexes consisting of bundles of spindle-shaped cells are present in the material among the blood. Tumor cells have eosinophilic cytoplasm with small basophilic nuclei. Perinuclear vacuoles are found in the cytoplasm of some cells. The histological picture corresponds to a gastrointestinal stromal tumor. In immunohistochemical examination, tumor cells are positive for CD117, DOG-1, CD34, caldesmon, single tumor cells are positive for alpha smooth muscle actin; negative for desmin. The tumor cells retain the expression of succinate dehydrogenase B. As follows, the histological picture and immunophenotype of the tumor cells correspond to a gastrointestinal stromal tumor. It is impossible to determine the gradation based on the provided material due to the limited amount of tumor material.
